Sometimes we fall in the misconception that empty stomach exercise can help to lose weight. It has been seen that many people go to the gym empty stomach.
And after a few minutes of the workout, they struggle to complete it. They struggle as they lack energy during exercise.
Why Empty Stomach Exercise Harmful
During exercise, we need the energy to complete it successfully. And for weight loss, proper planning, as well as completion, is important. Skipping a workout routine will hinder in the weight loss plan.
If we skip our food before a workout, there is no energy left during the training. With low energy, we can’t train properly. Also skipping food can demotivate from exercise.
During exercise, we need a continuous flow of energy. For a continuous energy, flow body need enough simple sugar and carbohydrate to process energy.
But due to lack of carbohydrate, there is a delay in supply of energy. During exercise body depend on carbohydrate as a primary source of energy.
Due to lack of carbohydrate, it forcibly burns fat. But after few interval of time, it starts utilizing protein stored in the form of muscle.
Energy provided by protein is very low. So there are no benefits instead muscle loss is severe.
It is found that more muscle equal more calorie burned. Losing muscle can interfere with weight loss.
What and When To Eat?
Eat 2 hours earlier before going for the exercise. Eating before the exercise increases glycogen level in the body. This glycogen is utilized to provide energy.
If you are going for a morning exercise, you might not get enough time to eat. Then you can simply eat some carbohydrate-rich foods such as fruits, cereals, etc.
Banana is a good post workout food. It is rich in carbohydrate that provides instant boost of energy for the workout. Try to drink fruit juice if you want liquid and light diet before a workout.
Weight loss is not such a complicated topic, but we make it. Our body works systematically as it is programmed for. But interference with normal functioning can lead to severe health problems.
We need the energy to do the work. Without a proper supply of energy, we can’t work. So how can we go for the workout empty stomach? It is the time when the body requires a high amount of energy.
If you are skipping your healthy diet, then you are hurting yourself. To lose weight and to increase metabolism body need nutrient rich food. Also, hydrating body properly can help to lose weight quickly.
So avoid these misconceptions of empty stomach exercise and enjoy eating before and after a workout. You will lose weight naturally.
