Many people are miss-leaded by false guidance. The false advice is “Drinking raw egg is good for health”.
Drinking Raw Eggs—Risk for your Health
The egg is a good source of nutrition. It is packed with essential vitamin, minerals and protein.
Apart from this, it also contains iron, calcium and many more. But it is only beneficial if it is well cooked.
You might have seen in various movies that the lead actor drinks raw egg to gain maximum benefits and quick muscle growth. But this is not true.
To achieve an excellent physique and muscle, they have to struggle a lot. It’s only bullshit that a raw egg has increased their muscle and power.
Raw eggs contain Salmonella bacteria inside it. 1 egg might be infected with bacteria out of 30. Then it is not a good option to take such unnecessary risk. A cooked egg contains the same amount of protein such as raw egg.
Egg yolk might be infected with Salmonella bacteria. Once you get infected with these bacteria, your workout schedule will be ruined.
All your planning and all yours achieved goals will gain a stop for weeks. So to avoid this, you should always prefer to eat a cooked egg. Cooking egg kills the Salmonella Bacteria inside it and makes it safe to eat.
We can’t conclude which egg is good or bad. Any egg might be infected with the Salmonella bacteria.
Then it’s not a good choice to take the risk of eating a single egg without properly cooking it.
Tips to Reduce the Risk of Salmonella Infection
- Avoid drinking a raw egg. It is not advisable to drink for any anyone.
- Store it in a refrigerator at ≤4° C.
- Eat egg after cooking. Don’t keep it at room temperature for more than 2 hours
- Avoid half cooked egg at any cost.
Symptoms of Salmonella Infection
The infected person usually has diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever after consuming infected egg.
In a severe case, the person might need hospitalization. It takes 4-7 days to recover.
So it is good to eat a cooked egg instead of raw egg.
