Fasting For Weight Loss | Does It Provide Benefit Of Side Effects

Fasting is practiced from a long time. It is usually done for religion practice. But it is also considered for weight loss.

Fasting reduces calorie intake or totally cut down calorie. Some practice fasting without eating any food while some practice with eating fruits. It can last for 1 day or week.

If you are considering fasting as a quick solution for weight loss, then give a thought. It is scientifically proven that fast for a  long time can degrade health.

Fasting for 1 day eating fruit can be beneficial and also cleanses toxin. But if fasting last for a longer period can lead to nutrient deficiency. So it totally wastes for weight loss.

Know Side-Effects of Fasting For Weight Loss:

1. Muscle Loss

Muscle loss is common during fasting. Body use glucose for providing energy for daily activity.

Also, during fast body Fasting for weight loss utilize glucose, i.e. Sugar. But when this glucose is depleted it start utilizing fat as a source of energy.

But after 5-6 hour this fat storage is depleted which are used as energy. Thus due to depletion of glycogen, the body needs an alternate source of energy.

During this process muscle loss occurs. Due to lack of energy body start breaking muscle cells. So muscle loss is severe while fasting.

2. Increased Hunger

If you aren’t eating food for a long time thyroid functions is slow down. It will lead to a reduction in production of thyroid hormone.

These hormones are responsible for boosting metabolism. With the decrease in metabolism, weight loss is slow down.

High metabolism is required to burn fat efficiently as a primary source of energy. So it increases deposition of fats.

Also changes in eating pattern increase food craving. Thus we tend to eat more after a fast which interfere in weight loss.

3. Health Problem

Changes in eating and nutrient deficient food can lead to many serious problems.

Nutrient deficiency can be a serious issue. For proper functioning of the body and to lose weight, nutrient rich food is required.

Fruits provide essential vitamin and minerals for burning fat.

Vegetables contain minerals and fiber which boost metabolism. Cereals and grain are needed for muscle growth.

It as also been proved that eating protein-rich food boost metabolism.

Concluding

Fasting is not a healthy way to lose weight. It can lead to nutrition deficiency. Eating nutrient rich food is highly preferred than fasting to lose weight quickly.

Fasting can show you a quick effect for a few days because when we cut calorie, we lose water weight. 

After water weight is lost, weight loss is very slow.

Guys stay away from it and adopt a healthy diet. It will show you a better effect.
