At the end of a day or a week after completing the task, you will sense the feeling of achievement. You will enjoy the taste of victory daily and weekly rather than waiting for months for the one moment.
Start to make even the smallest progress you are capable at the present moment. Miss no chance to take slow but small progress, rather than waiting for big action.
If you are a beginner and trying pushups for the first time and want to do 10-20 reps in a set, it will be impossible to do. Rather than making a big progress, start with few reps. Keep on increasing reps as your strength improves.
Start small; a big goal is never achieved in a single day.
Over time, small success and improvement accumulate into a bigger success. Even the toughest goal seems to be achievable. With the approach of starting small, you will build habits, discipline, belief, confidence, and knowledge which will help to achieve and maintain the goal with an ease.

A Story of a Chinese Bamboo Tree
Chinese Bamboo trees show no sign of growth for four years. Once it is planted, it requires constant nurturing, fertilizer and watering, yet nothing happens within the first year. The process of nurturing and watering takes place in the following years and still, there’s no sign of growth.
Things start to change in the fifth year. Within five weeks the bamboo grows between 82–88 feet (25–27 meters). The tree shows no sign of growth for the four years but its biggest growth occurs in the final period of its life.
Guess how long the Chinese bamboo tree took to grow?
It’s not the five weeks, it took total 5 years to build its strength to grow. In the first few years, it was nourished to build a stronger foundation and strength to survive and thrive.
Every goal is like those Chinese bamboo trees, it needs time and daily small efforts. To achieve the end goal, you have to add hundreds to thousands of little things to get an extraordinary result.
How you can apply this tip to your weight loss and health goals
1. Adding Up Vegetable
Vegetables are the best source of fiber and other nutrients. Instead of dense nutrients and benefits, many people don’t like to eat vegetables or eat less than required.
If you are among those people and trying to make a change, add vegetable slowly rather than bulking up suddenly.
You can start with one serving, later adding more; one serving at a time is better than none.
2. Building Habits
Habits are the most important influencer of weight loss and health. If you have a healthy habit, you won’t ever gain unhealthy weight. By building healthy habits, you can automate your weight loss and simplifies weight management.
Building habits take time and you need to go slow.
Build few easy habits rather than multiple habits. Don’t scare yourself with a list of habits. Start with 1-2 habits and keep on adding as you get comfortable with the earlier habit.

Adding healthy foods to the diet is one of best decision for long-term weight loss and health goal. Instead of loading healthy foods at once, start with few healthy foods. Within a few days, you will find that you have transformed your food choice.
Also, same things apply to reduce unhealthy food intake. Don’t ban every food from your diet all of a sudden. Keep on reducing slowly so that you don’t notice the change.
A slow change is always the best to make changes and to switch to a healthier lifestyle.
4. Starting Exercise Routine
Start small and slow, even applies to a fitness routine.
At the beginning don’t directly jump into an intense workout routine. You need to learn the right form, build strength and improve endurance for any intense exercise.

While going slow learn important things to achieve and maintain a goal. Build required skills, habits, routines, etc., required. These pieces of knowledge are the foundation and strengthening them, make you able to stand any difficulties.

A small goal doesn’t seem to look extraordinary when considered alone. But as you consider the compound effect of daily small actions for weeks and months you will find an extraordinary result.
